I am frightend to learn how deadly my anger can be. You instantly want to hurt someone else, you want to take them down...and if you only let enough time pass, you will not feel as strongly, nor will the issue seem as big as it does at the time.
As I look for God in my situaiton of "justice", the parable of the field workers comes to mind. The field workers who got a full days wages get upset when other workers who only worked a few hours were paid the same. They didn't work a full day, yet they got a full day's pay. And I see I got exactly what I was entitled to, what I had bargined for when I began this process. Keep my eyes on what God has in store for me and I will see it really doesn't matter what someone got or did not get. Thanks be to God! Because there are certainly many times when I am undeserving of the "days wages" I receive.
O God, thank you for your Holy Spirit, who does teach and soothe and love us through our humanity. Please accept my flawed self to you service and thank you for forgiveness through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen
