Today was surreal. Got a call that my mother in law had died. Then a call back some 30 to 40 minutes later that "she is back!" Then several hours later, as we drove up to New Albany MS, we got another call that she died again. My precious husband and I sat in silence on the longest trip of our recent history. Life hurts.

Lord Jesus Christ, by your death you took away the sting of death: Grant to us your servants so to follow in faith where you have led the way, that we may at length fall asleep peacefully in you and wake up in your likeness; for your tender mercies' sake. Amen. (BCP, p.123)
